Steve Heinz, MDMedical Director, Emergency Department Dr. Steve Heinz is Emergency Department Medical Director at Sky Ridge Medical Center. Dr. Heinz attended medical school at Wayne State University School of Medicine and completed his residency at Detroit Receiving Hospital, MI. Prior to Sky Ridge, he was an ED physician at Rose Medical Center for 20 years, having served as the ED Medical Director for the last six years. Dr. Heinz has been actively involved in EMS for over 30 years. |

Gregory Stiller, MDMedical Director, EMS Gregory Stiller M.D. completed medical school at SUNY Buffalo followed by a surgery internship at the University of Colorado and a residency in emergency medicine at SUNY Buffalo. Subsequently, he completed a fellowship in ultrasound and a second fellowship in Emergency Medical Services (EMS). He was the assistant medical director of Erie County, New York which provided medical direction to multiple EMS agencies including BLS, ALS, Hazmat and tactical. This position included providing tactical medical support, mass casualty management and on scene responses. Clinically, he was an Associate Professor of Emergency Medicine for the SUNY Buffalo residency program and an attending physician at the Erie County Medical Center, Western New York’s regional trauma center. As the medical director of the Specialized Medical Assistance Response Team, Dr. Stiller was deployed to the World Trade Center on 9/11/2001. After moving to Colorado, he worked as an emergency physician at The Medical Center of Aurora and currently at Sky Ridge Medical Center. Administratively, he works as the hospital EMS medical director and provides medical direction for Douglas County Search and Rescue and Colorado State Police EMD. Dr. Stiller is a wilderness medicine instructor and EMS educator, teaching locally, nationally and internationally. He enjoys many outdoor interests and is involved in mountain rescue through the Alpine Rescue Team. |

Burt Katubig, MDTrauma Medical Director Dr. Burt Katubig is the Trauma Medical Director at Sky Ridge Medical Center. Dr. Katubig attended medical school at Southern Illinois University School of Medicine and completed his residency at University of Illinois, Cook County Hospital in Chicago. Dr. Katubig completed fellowships in both Trauma and Critical care at Saint Louis University Health Sciences Center. Dr. Katubig has been Medical Director of both Trauma and Surgical Critical Care at Swedish Medical Center. Dr. Katubig is an ATLS instructor, and is actively involved in the EMS & Trauma Community throughout the region. |

Peggy Berkey, RN, BSNTrauma Nurse Coordinator Peggy joined the EMS & Trauma Department as the Trauma Nurse Coordinator in 2008 after working six years as the night charge nurse in our ICU. The majority of Peggy’s nursing experience has been in the intensive care arena making her a wonderful fit for her current post. A member of the hospital’s start-up team, Peggy has a wealth of experience including a four-year stint in the Air Force. She also served as a medical assistant with several physician specialties (Oncology, ENT, Family Practice), First Responder, basic EMT, and lineman on a rural volunteer fire department. Peggy is currently working on a Master’s Degree in Healthcare Administration with an education focus (MHA/ED). |

Garrett ChismEMS & Trauma Manager Garrett brings nearly 20 years of Emergency Medical Services experience to his current role at Sky Ridge. He has served as a Senior Paramedic and Field Instructor in Los Angeles County, and at Denver Health locally. Garret’s passion is performance improvement education, and emergency management training. He has been instrumental in growing Sky Ridge’s EMS & Trauma program and was a key player in creating HealthONE’s first EMS Leadership Conference. Garrett earned his MBA at Regis University. |
