This nuclear medicine stress exam is used to evaluate the distribution of blood flow within the heart muscle. It is commonly used for individuals that have:

• Known heart disease
• A strong family history of heart disease
• An abnormal electrical rhythm (EKG)
• If someone is unable to walk on a treadmill for some reason
